Owner-first purpose

Every guide begins with a question an owner, operator, or property decision-maker may face. We aim to provide a direct answer, identify the conditions that can change that answer, and give readers practical questions to take into a project conversation.

Research and source selection

We prioritize primary and authoritative sources such as government agencies, adopted codes and standards, industry associations, manufacturers' technical documentation, and original professional guidance. Sources are selected for relevance to the topic and are linked when they materially support the guide.

Planning tools and estimates

Calculator results are conceptual planning ranges, not bids, appraisals, engineering conclusions, or guarantees. Each tool describes its key assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and important project variables. Actual outcomes require current local pricing, site information, design development, and qualified review.

Review and maintenance
